About Us

The Half Moon Bay Airport Pilots Association is a 501c3 Charitable Organization, FEIN 943142105. Our mission is to preserve and enhance the HMB Airport as part of California's overall transportation system by informing teachers, citizens groups and elected officials who have an interest in the airport.

Supporting Education and Community Engagement:

  • Over $100,000 in scholarships have been awarded to coast side students! Since 1991, the association has actively supported the educational goals of our high school graduates, with both aviation focused scholarships and needs & merit-based scholarships for graduates pursuing college.

  • Support in Disaster: Volunteers participate in a statewide Disaster Airlift Response team to provide aviation support to the San Mateo County OES and community in the event of a disaster, based on the lessons learned by partnering airports during the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989.

  • Learn about the DART program here.

  • Aviation Education: We enhance safe flight operations through education and keep coast-side pilots flying via active engagement in our vibrant Half Moon Bay Airport community of tenants, aviation students and local enthusiasts
